Today is World Environment Day, a day to recognize the impacts of climate change on life across the planet and celebrate the collective action to advance climate solutions. Efforts around the world are driving sustainable solutions to build a better future, from restoring ecosystems to destroying super pollutants.
Together with our partners and project developers, the Climate Action Reserve is advancing GHG reduction and removal opportunities worldwide. We’re working to scale our global impact with an updated approach to protocol development that enables efficient adaptation and acceleration across jurisdictions, and engagement with new technologies and digital solutions to increase efficiency in project operations as we scale.
We’re grateful for the collaborations that make the global impact of our program possible. Highlights include:
| ClimeCo’s work to reduce emissions from three adipic acid producers in China | |

“By bringing the high-integrity standards we pioneered in North America to three adipic acid producers in China, we’re scaling a proven climate solution that will reduce millions of tonnes of CO₂e each year. Earning the Core Carbon Principles label reflects the rigor and transparency behind this work, and we’re proud to advance it alongside the Climate Action Reserve.”

| MÉXICO2’s work to capture and combust livestock methane emissions in Argentinaa | |

“As the first biodigester project in Argentina listed under Climate Action Reserve, BioAnglo represents the potential of high-quality, technology-based carbon projects in Latin America. Beyond its environmental impact, this project is an impressive engineering work that shows how technology can be successfully integrated into agricultural operations to support their decarbonization.”

| ICICO’s efforts to increase carbon storage on 49,500 forest hectares owned by 21 indigenous communities in Mexico | |

“The Climate Action Reserve Mexico Forest Protocol (MFP) has been crucial for enabling access to climate finance by indigenous communities across Mexico since its inception in 2013. ICICO (Integrator of Campesino and Indigenous Communities of Oaxaca), a local non-profit, has been working closely with Oaxacan indigenous communities using MFP to increase land governance, conservation, and forest biomass stocks within 49,600 hectares owned by 21 indigenous communities.”

| Our ongoing work to develop the India Nitric Acid Production Protocol, addressing N₂O emissions—a super pollutant with 265x the warming potential of CO₂ | |
![]() |
“Nitric acid production is a significant source of N₂O, a super pollutant with a warming potential 265 times that of CO₂. India’s production capacity represents an enormous opportunity – and the Reserve’s India Nitric Acid Production Protocol will provide a high-integrity accounting framework that gives project developers, investors, and buyers the confidence to act. We can channel real capital toward verified emission reductions, while supporting India’s climate ambitions on its path to net zero.”

Together, we are helping scale innovative climate solutions around the world and building a more sustainable future for communities and the planet.
