The Reserve has released the draft U.S. Forest Project Protocol Version 5.0 for public review and comment. Proposed revisions to the protocol include the addition of a standardized baseline option for Improved Forest Management (IFM) projects, updated leakage values, a revised minimum verification schedule, and several other updates to enhance usability. The protocol, quantification guidance, updated Assessment Area Data File, and complete summary of changes are available on the FPP Version 5.0 webpage. Please note that the Forest Project Protocol will now include only the Improved Forest Management and Avoided Conversion project types. A standalone Reforestation methodology will be released at a later time.
An online public workshop will be held on Wednesday, November 14 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm PT to discuss and respond to questions on the draft protocol.
