Nitric Acid Production Protocol – India Module Development

Version 1.0

This module establishes jurisdiction-specific requirements applicable to nitric acid production projects in India under the Reserve’s modular protocol structure. The Nitric Acid Production Protocol addresses GHG emission reductions associated with the installation and use of nitrous oxide (N2O) emission control technology to reduce N2O emissions generated as a byproduct of nitric acid production.

Note that the protocol is being introduced here under the Reserve’s modular format, which consists of the Nitric Acid Production Protocol that contains guidance applicable across all jurisdictions, and the India Module, which contains guidance specific to projects located in India. Together, these documents establish the requirements for nitric acid production projects in India. Following the development of the India Module, the Reserve plans to explore the development of additional jurisdiction modules for the protocol across the Asia Pacific Region.
