The Climate Action Reserve is pleased to announce that we are launching an offset protocol development process to incentivize agricultural practices that enhance carbon storage in soils (Soil Enrichment Project Protocol, or SEPP). This work is being funded in part by Indigo Ag, with whom we are collaborating on the development of the protocol content. The primary GHG benefit targeted will be accrual of additional carbon in agricultural soils. We also hope to incentivize GHG emission reductions from other sources, such as N2O from fertilizer use. Interested stakeholders are encouraged to consider submitting a Statement of Interest form for workgroup participation. Please contact policy@climateactionreserve.org with any questions or comments.
